Therapy for adolescents

A place where teens can actually be themselves.

Being a teenager can mean carrying pressure from every direction. Therapy offers space to talk honestly about anxiety, identity, friendships, family, school, self-esteem, and the things that are hard to say anywhere else.

A thoughtful start

Trust comes before the deep stuff.

I don’t expect a teen to open up just because an appointment is on the calendar. We’ll build a real relationship at a pace that feels comfortable, while keeping caregivers appropriately involved and making privacy expectations clear from the start.

What the process looks like

Collaborative, straightforward, and built around the actual teen.

01

Assessment

We’ll explore what has been happening, how it affects daily life, personal strengths, relationships, safety, and what the teen and caregiver each hope therapy can help with.

02

Treatment plan

We’ll turn those concerns into clear, realistic goals. The teen has a voice in the plan, whether the focus is anxiety, emotional regulation, confidence, communication, trauma, or navigating change.

03

Sessions

Sessions may blend conversation, creativity, humor, CBT and DBT skills, and space to work through patterns without feeling lectured. Some days are structured; other days we start with whatever showed up that week.

04

Progress check-ins

We’ll check whether therapy is helping and adjust when needed. Caregiver updates focus on progress and support while respecting the teen’s privacy, within appropriate safety and legal limits.

Your teen doesn’t need a perfect explanation for what’s wrong.

“I’ve been having a hard time” is more than enough to start.
